Make your abstract concrete
We collaborate with the best research groups, academics and institutions in the world, helping explain their work to funders and engage the wider public. We travel the world with our cameras, and also film remotely with local crews, meeting pioneering researchers and translating their complex work into human-centred stories that land with diverse audiences.
Hitch Seed has a background in Science Communication, we read your research, create unique visual treatments, and produce great films that raise the profile of your work.
Excerpts of some selected science research projects from SOI to BBC, oceanography, nature, neuroscience. We have made films from the deepest ocean to Mount Everest and everywhere in between.
Disability and cancer care
-
Poor cancer outcomes in people with disabilities is a huge problem which is under discussed.
The Lancet have produced a pdf report on the subject. How can we use video to ensure the report’s recommendations reach healthcare professionals, change attitudes and improve care?
-
We film the report’s author - a top researcher with a disability, who has spent her life working on this problem and has lived experience.
We’ll film her in action, use animation to make the film feel relatable and shareable, and use vibrant stereotype-crushing archive footage of people with disabilities living full lives.
-
126K views and counting. The film went viral on YouTube, boosted by organic shares among healthcare professionals who loved the film. We brought huge reach to the original report
“This is incredible! I really had no idea what to expect, and this goes well beyond what I anticipated, in the best possible way.”
“I have no idea how you and your creative colleagues conceived this distillation.
